Narrative:

ZJX had given restr of 12000 ft at oneel fix. Handoff to approach (jax) occurred just as we approached fix. Aircraft was engaged (autoplt) with 12000 ft armed. At 12000 ft aircraft continued descent through 12000 ft. Autoplt disengaged and climbed back to 12000 ft. Approach 'check-in' with descent to 2000 ft commenced. Normal approach and landing at jax. Lessons learned: all the neat gadgets can sometimes bite you! This time, we're in a relatively sparse area, with no conflicting traffic. The civet 4 at lax would have been totally different. I guess that's why we must be always vigilant -- at all times!
