Narrative:
On sep/xa/99 I was approached by a mechanic regarding the position of link 69-16602-2 #5 flap carriage aft spindle installation, date on or about sep/xa/99. He asked me if the link was positioned correctly with the bearing flange installed aft. I cannot recall which way it was positioned. All parties involved believe it would be a good idea to have the aircraft checked at the earliest convenience. All safeties and securities were checked. The mechanic voiced concern about the position of #6 flap link, which should also be verified. I did not buy the installation of #6. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated that after the aircraft in question was stopped and inspected the flap link was found to be installed correctly.

THE MECH VOICED CONCERN ABOUT THE POS OF #6 FLAP LINK, WHICH SHOULD ALSO BE VERIFIED. I DID NOT BUY THE INSTALLATION OF #6. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THAT AFTER THE ACFT IN QUESTION WAS STOPPED AND INSPECTED THE FLAP LINK WAS FOUND TO BE INSTALLED CORRECTLY.
