Narrative:
During spot check of logbook; aircraft (tail) found control sheet item to re-inspect speed tape on center wing to fuselage fairing every 100 fly cycles open on control date. After further review of aircraft maintenance history; found nothing and pilot maintenance report's history shows entry dropped off. This is in violation of gpm 12-02 100. Flight cycles not accomplished. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter defined the following carrier logbook terms; microphone is logbook maintenance item control sheet. Maintenance item control allows a quick glance at the logbook to determine if a time controled deferred item is due for inspection or repair. Kva is the complete up-to-date aircraft maintenance history contained in the maintenance computer. Dash is a method of extracting from the aircraft history only pilot reports. Flight cycles is a time controled maintenance item in flight cycles consisting of 1 takeoff and landing.
