Narrative:

Oct/xa/99 I departed dixon, il (C73) at XA30. WX was forecast VFR. I landed at whiteside airport to check WX again. Called FSS and checked computer. WX marginal, so I waited until clouds lifted some. Departed at XC30 when WX was VFR. Altitude was 2500 ft MSL with light scattered below and a solid overcast layer at 4500 ft MSL. The scattered layer abruptly became broken and I contacted moline approach for vectors to better WX. These vectors then took me to moline. I was then vectored around to the north and runway 5. I proceeded through a hole in the broken layer and landed at moline. Shortly after landing, the base layer became solid and rain began.
