Narrative:
On 9/thu/01, I called green bay flight service at XA00. I was told I could fly, but to make sure that the airport I was flying to was open. I didn't fly on thursday. I went up to adams/friendship airport to pick up my airplane. That was grounded on the day of the terrorist attack. I believe that GA had been cleared to fly. I took off and heard other air traffic. At about XA30 the madison frequency, which I had been monitoring called a plane north of baraboo VOR. I looked for another plane, but could not see one. I called madison approach and was informed to land at the nearest airport - baraboo/delis. I squawked XXXX a directed and landed. I called green bay flight service and advised them of the situation. I called madison tower at XA00 and advised them that I was on the ground and advised them of the situation.

Title: A C172 PLT DEPARTED A LOCAL ARPT VFR, MSN APCH INFORMED THE RPTR TO LAND AT THE NEAREST ARPT.
Narrative: ON 9/THU/01, I CALLED GREEN BAY FLT SERVICE AT XA00. I WAS TOLD I COULD FLY, BUT TO MAKE SURE THAT THE ARPT I WAS FLYING TO WAS OPEN. I DIDN'T FLY ON THURSDAY. I WENT UP TO ADAMS/FRIENDSHIP ARPT TO PICK UP MY AIRPLANE. THAT WAS GNDED ON THE DAY OF THE TERRORIST ATTACK. I BELIEVE THAT GA HAD BEEN CLRED TO FLY. I TOOK OFF AND HEARD OTHER AIR TFC. AT ABOUT XA30 THE MADISON FREQ, WHICH I HAD BEEN MONITORING CALLED A PLANE N OF BARABOO VOR. I LOOKED FOR ANOTHER PLANE, BUT COULD NOT SEE ONE. I CALLED MADISON APCH AND WAS INFORMED TO LAND AT THE NEAREST ARPT - BARABOO/DELIS. I SQUAWKED XXXX A DIRECTED AND LANDED. I CALLED GREEN BAY FLT SERVICE AND ADVISED THEM OF THE SIT. I CALLED MADISON TWR AT XA00 AND ADVISED THEM THAT I WAS ON THE GND AND ADVISED THEM OF THE SIT.
