Narrative:

While taxiing out to take off on runway 8 at abq the following occurred. After taxiing to runway 8, while still talking to ground, the ground controller stated 'expect no delay for departure.' this was responded to by copilot and line up checklist was initiated. The controller then said 'expect immediate departure 290 heading degree left turn.' when hearing this, I believed that he had cleared our aircraft for immediate takeoff, left turn to 290 degrees. So while taking the runway, I noticed that we were still on ground control frequency and asked the copilot to verify the 'clearance.' I thought it was strange that ground control gave such a clearance. Tower said we had not been 'cleared on' by him but said 'cleared for takeoff.' normally, I think this sort of thing would have been unusual, but with all the FAA/wads/military air traffic control over the last few days, I assumed the clearance was accurate. I know that from now on, I will always verify who issues the clrncs that I hear, and will query controllers if I receive a clearance that seems unusual, or out of sequence, no matter how strange flying operations have been for the last few days.

Title: MIL SWEARINGEN METROLINER CAPT TAXIED ONTO RWY TO TAKE OFF DUE TO MISUNDERSTANDING OF ATCT CTLR INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE ANTICIPATED TKOF INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN TO THE FO.

Narrative: WHILE TAXIING OUT TO TAKE OFF ON RWY 8 AT ABQ THE FOLLOWING OCCURRED. AFTER TAXIING TO RWY 8, WHILE STILL TALKING TO GND, THE GND CTLR STATED 'EXPECT NO DELAY FOR DEP.' THIS WAS RESPONDED TO BY COPLT AND LINE UP CHKLIST WAS INITIATED. THE CTLR THEN SAID 'EXPECT IMMEDIATE DEP 290 HDG DEG L TURN.' WHEN HEARING THIS, I BELIEVED THAT HE HAD CLRED OUR ACFT FOR IMMEDIATE TKOF, L TURN TO 290 DEGS. SO WHILE TAKING THE RWY, I NOTICED THAT WE WERE STILL ON GND CTL FREQ AND ASKED THE COPLT TO VERIFY THE 'CLRNC.' I THOUGHT IT WAS STRANGE THAT GND CTL GAVE SUCH A CLRNC. TWR SAID WE HAD NOT BEEN 'CLRED ON' BY HIM BUT SAID 'CLRED FOR TKOF.' NORMALLY, I THINK THIS SORT OF THING WOULD HAVE BEEN UNUSUAL, BUT WITH ALL THE FAA/WADS/MIL AIR TFC CTL OVER THE LAST FEW DAYS, I ASSUMED THE CLRNC WAS ACCURATE. I KNOW THAT FROM NOW ON, I WILL ALWAYS VERIFY WHO ISSUES THE CLRNCS THAT I HEAR, AND WILL QUERY CTLRS IF I RECEIVE A CLRNC THAT SEEMS UNUSUAL, OR OUT OF SEQUENCE, NO MATTER HOW STRANGE FLYING OPS HAVE BEEN FOR THE LAST FEW DAYS.
