Narrative:

When power was applied during the initial takeoff roll, the cockpit doors popped open. The takeoff was aborted at very low speed. The pilots coordinated with the flight attendants, and the cockpit door was resecured and triplechked. The flight then departed nominally. The door latching mechanism on the EMB120 is very flimsy, and company maintenance modifications have made this worse. This type of incident is becoming a daily occurrence.
