Narrative:
A brasilia flew into our flight path due to strong north wind which he/she failed to compensate for. TCASII RA activated and captain responded quickly and accurately to avoid aircraft. Supplemental information from acn 453893: on approach to runway 27 with strong north overshooting wind, aircraft on approach to runway 26 overshot and nearly missed hitting us. He was wing up and did not see us. Supplemental information from acn 454673: on 4 mi final (visual approach) had an RA. Responded to it and acquired aircraft visually. Tower advised us to call. Tower supervisor advised he had talked to other aircraft pilot.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A B727 CREW, ON FINAL TO RWY 27 AT IAH, EXPERIENCED AN NMAC WITH A BRASILIA ON FINAL FOR RWY 26. THERE WERE STRONG N WINDS WHICH THE BRASILIA CREW HAD NOT COMPENSATED FOR, CAUSING THEM TO OVERSHOOT THEIR APCH PATH AND GLIDE INTO THAT OF THE B727.
Narrative: A BRASILIA FLEW INTO OUR FLT PATH DUE TO STRONG N WIND WHICH HE/SHE FAILED TO COMPENSATE FOR. TCASII RA ACTIVATED AND CAPT RESPONDED QUICKLY AND ACCURATELY TO AVOID ACFT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 453893: ON APCH TO RWY 27 WITH STRONG N OVERSHOOTING WIND, ACFT ON APCH TO RWY 26 OVERSHOT AND NEARLY MISSED HITTING US. HE WAS WING UP AND DID NOT SEE US. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 454673: ON 4 MI FINAL (VISUAL APCH) HAD AN RA. RESPONDED TO IT AND ACQUIRED ACFT VISUALLY. TWR ADVISED US TO CALL. TWR SUPVR ADVISED HE HAD TALKED TO OTHER ACFT PLT.
