Narrative:

We were cleared for the ILS runway 10 approach about 10 mi from the marker and told to contact the tower at the marker. I was the PF. The first officer was PNF and working the radios. We landed and when we requested information from the tower as to which way to exit the runway, we discovered we had landed on approach frequency. There was no conflict and when we contacted the tower they told us to taxi to the gate. The first officer and I discussed the problem and basically he just forgot to contact the tower and I did not catch it. The approach and callouts were done by the book. This event was caused by a lack of situational awareness by both crew members. A contributing factor was approach clearing us for the approach a ways from the marker with the instruction to contact the tower at the marker.

Narrative: WE WERE CLRED FOR THE ILS RWY 10 APCH ABOUT 10 MI FROM THE MARKER AND TOLD TO CONTACT THE TWR AT THE MARKER. I WAS THE PF. THE FO WAS PNF AND WORKING THE RADIOS. WE LANDED AND WHEN WE REQUESTED INFO FROM THE TWR AS TO WHICH WAY TO EXIT THE RWY, WE DISCOVERED WE HAD LANDED ON APCH FREQ. THERE WAS NO CONFLICT AND WHEN WE CONTACTED THE TWR THEY TOLD US TO TAXI TO THE GATE. THE FO AND I DISCUSSED THE PROB AND BASICALLY HE JUST FORGOT TO CONTACT THE TWR AND I DID NOT CATCH IT. THE APCH AND CALLOUTS WERE DONE BY THE BOOK. THIS EVENT WAS CAUSED BY A LACK OF SITUATIONAL AWARENESS BY BOTH CREW MEMBERS. A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR WAS APCH CLRING US FOR THE APCH A WAYS FROM THE MARKER WITH THE INSTRUCTION TO CONTACT THE TWR AT THE MARKER.
