Narrative:
Was on FMS flight plan on a heading of 130 degrees and was given a turn to 090 degrees. The first officer set the heading bug to 090 degrees but forgot to select the heading mode on the autoplt. After a couple of mins, approach asked if we made the turn. Just prior to the call we realized we didn't turn and had already begun the turn when approach called us. Looking back on that moment, it seemed everything was happening at once, altitude change, heading change, in the middle of a checklist, had operations calling us. Normally this is not a problem, but our flight was up until this point was strangely quiet and I guess we just got momentarily complacent. Fortunately we recognized the problem and corrected it without incident.

Title: CL65 NEGLECTED TO TURN AS CLRED IN A TIMELY MANNER ON APCH TO CVG.
Narrative: WAS ON FMS FLT PLAN ON A HDG OF 130 DEGS AND WAS GIVEN A TURN TO 090 DEGS. THE FO SET THE HDG BUG TO 090 DEGS BUT FORGOT TO SELECT THE HDG MODE ON THE AUTOPLT. AFTER A COUPLE OF MINS, APCH ASKED IF WE MADE THE TURN. JUST PRIOR TO THE CALL WE REALIZED WE DIDN'T TURN AND HAD ALREADY BEGUN THE TURN WHEN APCH CALLED US. LOOKING BACK ON THAT MOMENT, IT SEEMED EVERYTHING WAS HAPPENING AT ONCE, ALT CHANGE, HDG CHANGE, IN THE MIDDLE OF A CHKLIST, HAD OPS CALLING US. NORMALLY THIS IS NOT A PROB, BUT OUR FLT WAS UP UNTIL THIS POINT WAS STRANGELY QUIET AND I GUESS WE JUST GOT MOMENTARILY COMPLACENT. FORTUNATELY WE RECOGNIZED THE PROB AND CORRECTED IT WITHOUT INCIDENT.
