Narrative:
During taxi operations after arrival at bwi, taxi instructions were acknowledged by first officer and repeated by PIC. Although instructions were understood, the performance of after landing cockpit flows prevented the seeing of signs for taxiway C. I believe the taxiway sign may have been unlit because I specifically looked for it but never saw it. We ended up on a runway which was not in use but no conflict was caused. Distrs by after landing flows by all crew members prevented all from being involved in taxi operations. In the future I will analyze the taxi routing and request concurrence with all other crew members and request a heads up for particular turnoffs, ie, should be first left, second left, or whatever. There could have been lighting problems also with the runway hold short lighting because it was not visible either.

Title: A TAXIING B727-100 FREIGHTER IN AN EARLY MORNING NIGHT OP ENDS UP ON AN INACTIVE RWY INSTEAD OF THE DESIGNATED TXWY AT BWI, MD.
Narrative: DURING TAXI OPS AFTER ARR AT BWI, TAXI INSTRUCTIONS WERE ACKNOWLEDGED BY FO AND REPEATED BY PIC. ALTHOUGH INSTRUCTIONS WERE UNDERSTOOD, THE PERFORMANCE OF AFTER LNDG COCKPIT FLOWS PREVENTED THE SEEING OF SIGNS FOR TXWY C. I BELIEVE THE TXWY SIGN MAY HAVE BEEN UNLIT BECAUSE I SPECIFICALLY LOOKED FOR IT BUT NEVER SAW IT. WE ENDED UP ON A RWY WHICH WAS NOT IN USE BUT NO CONFLICT WAS CAUSED. DISTRS BY AFTER LNDG FLOWS BY ALL CREW MEMBERS PREVENTED ALL FROM BEING INVOLVED IN TAXI OPS. IN THE FUTURE I WILL ANALYZE THE TAXI ROUTING AND REQUEST CONCURRENCE WITH ALL OTHER CREW MEMBERS AND REQUEST A HEADS UP FOR PARTICULAR TURNOFFS, IE, SHOULD BE FIRST L, SECOND L, OR WHATEVER. THERE COULD HAVE BEEN LIGHTING PROBS ALSO WITH THE RWY HOLD SHORT LIGHTING BECAUSE IT WAS NOT VISIBLE EITHER.
