Narrative:

Byp arrival, changed clearance to wilbur 2 with what we understood to be 170 degree heading out of addvl for rv. At TTT 39 DME ATC asks heading and we reply 170 degrees assigned. His response was, 'you're lost, turn right 270 degrees, I gave you 235 degree heading out of addvl.' even though it was a very saturated time, attempting to locate a TCASII TA, an arrival and runway change, and IOE training, I honestly don't believe the mistake was made on our part.

Title: ACR HAS CLRNC CONFUSION AT DFW.

Narrative: BYP ARR, CHANGED CLRNC TO WILBUR 2 WITH WHAT WE UNDERSTOOD TO BE 170 DEG HDG OUT OF ADDVL FOR RV. AT TTT 39 DME ATC ASKS HEADING AND WE REPLY 170 DEGS ASSIGNED. HIS RESPONSE WAS, 'YOU'RE LOST, TURN R 270 DEGS, I GAVE YOU 235 DEG HDG OUT OF ADDVL.' EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A VERY SATURATED TIME, ATTEMPTING TO LOCATE A TCASII TA, AN ARR AND RWY CHANGE, AND IOE TRAINING, I HONESTLY DON'T BELIEVE THE MISTAKE WAS MADE ON OUR PART.
