Narrative:

Aircraft had a deferred #2 power management control inoperative per MEL. During cruise, I turned on the #2 power management control to verify and analyze the status of the inoperative light, button, and power management control. No faults or erratic engine operations were observed. After arriving at a company maintenance base, the observations of the #2 power maintenance control/engine parameters were explained to maintenance personnel. Maintenance elected to clear the deferral from the log. The air crew had no supporting document in either the MEL, QRH, or maintenance write-up, which in my opinion prohibited the analysis of the aircraft's status (#2 power management control).
