Narrative:
During an inspector authority/authorized surveillance, an FAA air safety inspector-airworthiness asked when I was going to clean up my shop. His partner also stated it needed to be cleaned. This is a part 91 operation and has no far to back up those comments. My shop is not dirty. However, we do have a lot of items sitting around. But it is my business to determine if it needs cleaning, not FAA's. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter re-stated again that the shop is not dirty but does have various aircraft parts and equipment stashed around the shop. The reporter said the work done in the shop is first class with never any customer complaint. The reporter stated with only part 91 work being done he could work off the back of a pickup truck. The reporter said these 2 inspectors can always be counted on to give somebody a hard time.
