Narrative:
On dec/xa/99, we (crew) were to operate a flight from sea-dfw. The takeoff weight was expected to be near maximum and we had discussed which SID we would receive for takeoff -- hoping for summa 5 -- which has no climb restrs. The flight was crowded and agents were very busy. Just prior to scheduled pushback, agent delivered our paperwork -- including the pre departure clearance. In the rush to push back, we failed to notice that the pre departure clearance was for the flight at an adjacent gate. All 3 of the crew had looked at the pre departure clearance and none of us caught the mistake. The first officer and I were hoping to receive the summa 5 and focused in on that part of the pre departure clearance only. Even though the transponder code and flight number are in the same line, we failed to see the wrong flight number. Our correct pre departure clearance called for a mountain departure. We incorrectly flew the summa departure. The error was detected by ATC on initial contact after departure. Supplemental information from acn 458625: the captain bought a highlighter pen for future pre departure clearance information (ie, flight number, date and destination).

Title: ACR CREW USES PDC INTENDED FOR ANOTHER ACFT AT SEA.
Narrative: ON DEC/XA/99, WE (CREW) WERE TO OPERATE A FLT FROM SEA-DFW. THE TKOF WT WAS EXPECTED TO BE NEAR MAX AND WE HAD DISCUSSED WHICH SID WE WOULD RECEIVE FOR TKOF -- HOPING FOR SUMMA 5 -- WHICH HAS NO CLB RESTRS. THE FLT WAS CROWDED AND AGENTS WERE VERY BUSY. JUST PRIOR TO SCHEDULED PUSHBACK, AGENT DELIVERED OUR PAPERWORK -- INCLUDING THE PDC. IN THE RUSH TO PUSH BACK, WE FAILED TO NOTICE THAT THE PDC WAS FOR THE FLT AT AN ADJACENT GATE. ALL 3 OF THE CREW HAD LOOKED AT THE PDC AND NONE OF US CAUGHT THE MISTAKE. THE FO AND I WERE HOPING TO RECEIVE THE SUMMA 5 AND FOCUSED IN ON THAT PART OF THE PDC ONLY. EVEN THOUGH THE XPONDER CODE AND FLT NUMBER ARE IN THE SAME LINE, WE FAILED TO SEE THE WRONG FLT NUMBER. OUR CORRECT PDC CALLED FOR A MOUNTAIN DEP. WE INCORRECTLY FLEW THE SUMMA DEP. THE ERROR WAS DETECTED BY ATC ON INITIAL CONTACT AFTER DEP. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 458625: THE CAPT BOUGHT A HIGHLIGHTER PEN FOR FUTURE PDC INFO (IE, FLT NUMBER, DATE AND DEST).
