Narrative:
Upon a normal landing into ord, our plane slid off the end of the runway. Once the wheels hit the ground, we kept going and going and going. Then we came to a very abrupt stop. At that point, it was the only indication that something was different. Immediately after stopping, the captain came on the PA and said 'flight attendants, remain seated. Passenger remain seated. We have slid off the runway.' we waited for about 20 or so mins. Meanwhile, I think the plane was sinking into the dirt, because the cabin attitude was getting worse. After about 20 or so mins, many emergency vehicles and fireman were evaluating and gathering around the aircraft. We deplaned by stairs onto busses and went into the terminal. No passenger were injured. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated that the #2 and the #3 flight attendants were injured, but only felt it later. 1 flight attendant became emotional and was very shaken up. The passenger took it in stride and just wondered when they were going to get their luggage. She said that the conditions at ord were snowy and the runway was icy.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: CABIN ATTENDANT RPT, B737, DTW-ORD. SNOW. DURING TAXI IN, ACFT SLID OFF RWY. 2 CABIN ATTENDANTS WERE INJURED, 1 REACTED EMOTIONALLY AND WAS SHOOK UP. EXITED ON STAIRS.
Narrative: UPON A NORMAL LNDG INTO ORD, OUR PLANE SLID OFF THE END OF THE RWY. ONCE THE WHEELS HIT THE GND, WE KEPT GOING AND GOING AND GOING. THEN WE CAME TO A VERY ABRUPT STOP. AT THAT POINT, IT WAS THE ONLY INDICATION THAT SOMETHING WAS DIFFERENT. IMMEDIATELY AFTER STOPPING, THE CAPT CAME ON THE PA AND SAID 'FLT ATTENDANTS, REMAIN SEATED. PAX REMAIN SEATED. WE HAVE SLID OFF THE RWY.' WE WAITED FOR ABOUT 20 OR SO MINS. MEANWHILE, I THINK THE PLANE WAS SINKING INTO THE DIRT, BECAUSE THE CABIN ATTITUDE WAS GETTING WORSE. AFTER ABOUT 20 OR SO MINS, MANY EMER VEHICLES AND FIREMAN WERE EVALUATING AND GATHERING AROUND THE ACFT. WE DEPLANED BY STAIRS ONTO BUSSES AND WENT INTO THE TERMINAL. NO PAX WERE INJURED. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THAT THE #2 AND THE #3 FLT ATTENDANTS WERE INJURED, BUT ONLY FELT IT LATER. 1 FLT ATTENDANT BECAME EMOTIONAL AND WAS VERY SHAKEN UP. THE PAX TOOK IT IN STRIDE AND JUST WONDERED WHEN THEY WERE GOING TO GET THEIR LUGGAGE. SHE SAID THAT THE CONDITIONS AT ORD WERE SNOWY AND THE RWY WAS ICY.
