Narrative:
Compressor stall after takeoff from chicago. Maximum power takeoff from runway 9R was interrupted with 2 subtle jolts at 800 ft AGL. Master caution and warning lights flashed briefly, but were unreadable. I disconnected the autothrottles and reduced power to 1.7 EPR. The aircraft climbed nicely at 1500 FPM. Continued climbing right turn to the west and cleared clouds at 10500 ft. With the anti-ice equipment turned off the aft flight attendants and a passenger riding captain agreed that there were different noises and a distinct vibration coming from the left engine. Called for technical assistance from air carrier maintenance who referred us to local maintenance and established a radio relay. Local maintenance recommended engine monitoring while continuing onward to reno. Remainder of flight and landing were unremarkable. Maintenance inspection revealed considerable damage to C-1 disk. 6 blades were bent forward at the tips. Supplemental information from acn 460535: on takeoff at 800 ft had 2 minor compressor stalls all engine readings were normal. Cabin crew and passenger rider air carrier captain said felt vibration from engines at high power settings, but reduced with lower power settings. Talked with maintenance. They recommended continuing to rno which we did to an uneventful landing. Inspection of engines showed 7 or 8 bent blades on #1 engine.

Title: MD80 CREW HAD HIGH PWR COMPRESSOR STALLS JUST AFTER TKOF.
Narrative: COMPRESSOR STALL AFTER TKOF FROM CHICAGO. MAX PWR TKOF FROM RWY 9R WAS INTERRUPTED WITH 2 SUBTLE JOLTS AT 800 FT AGL.
