Narrative:
Crew consisted of IOE captain and check/instructor captain. IOE captain was hand flying the aircraft on the departure SID. Due to a preceding aircraft on the same SID, we were given multiple altitude leveloffs instead of the more normal unrestr climb. Approaching leveloff at 15000 ft, IOE captain was briefly distraction and missed the flight director leveloff indications. This was promptly noticed and corrected with a leveloff at 15300 ft. ATC indicated they saw an altitude of 15400 ft. However, aircraft indications were a maximum altitude of 15300 ft (+300 ft deviation). The lesson learned is that IOE crew members are already highly task saturated, especially when hand flying. The autoplt should always be selected on prior to allowing distracting factors to unduly influence the progress of the flight.

Title: WITH TRAINING IN PROGRESS B767 CREW OVERSHOOTS CLRED ALT NEAR PHX.
Narrative: CREW CONSISTED OF IOE CAPT AND CHK/INSTRUCTOR CAPT. IOE CAPT WAS HAND FLYING THE ACFT ON THE DEP SID. DUE TO A PRECEDING ACFT ON THE SAME SID, WE WERE GIVEN MULTIPLE ALT LEVELOFFS INSTEAD OF THE MORE NORMAL UNRESTR CLB. APCHING LEVELOFF AT 15000 FT, IOE CAPT WAS BRIEFLY DISTR AND MISSED THE FLT DIRECTOR LEVELOFF INDICATIONS. THIS WAS PROMPTLY NOTICED AND CORRECTED WITH A LEVELOFF AT 15300 FT. ATC INDICATED THEY SAW AN ALT OF 15400 FT. HOWEVER, ACFT INDICATIONS WERE A MAX ALT OF 15300 FT (+300 FT DEV). THE LESSON LEARNED IS THAT IOE CREW MEMBERS ARE ALREADY HIGHLY TASK SATURATED, ESPECIALLY WHEN HAND FLYING. THE AUTOPLT SHOULD ALWAYS BE SELECTED ON PRIOR TO ALLOWING DISTRACTING FACTORS TO UNDULY INFLUENCE THE PROGRESS OF THE FLT.
