Narrative:
B757 flight from sea to phl. While at FL370, just prior to starting the bunts arrival into phl, we got a fire indication on the left engine. The engine was shut down per our procedures. The WX at both phl and pit was poor, so we decided to divert to iad. All checklist items were accomplished. We landed without further problems.
