Narrative:
I was practicing VOR navigation while under the hood. (With a qualified safety pilot). I was flying from rockford, il (rfd) to pnt VOR at 3500 ft MSL. Flew outbound 182 degrees radial from pnt to my destination, decatur, il (dec). Upon changing my course to 182 degrees, I descended to 2500 ft MSL (VFR altitude). While doing some xchks with other vors in the area, I drifted right (west) of the 182 degree radial. I discovered my course deviation just after passing the class D airspace of bmi. I am not exactly sure if I entered the class D, but the 182 degree radial runs along the edge of it, so I think I may have entered it by 1/2 to 1 NM. In retrospect, I should have contacted bmi as I turned outbound from pnt.

Title: CLASS D AIRSPACE ENTERED AT BMI, IL, BY PASSING PLT PRACTICING INST FLT WHEN HE DRIFTED W OF V-313. A SAFETY PLT WAS ONBOARD.
