Narrative:
During cruise flight at FL330, both pressure and quantity in the 'a' hydraulic system went to zero. Completed appropriate checklist which led to a diversion and landing at jfk. Manually lowered landing gear and extended flaps electrically. After landing and being towed to parking gate, it was determined that a hydraulic pressure line near one of the engine driven pumps had ruptured, resulting in total loss of hydraulic fluid.
