Narrative:

The flight was planned on an inland route because the aircraft was not overwater equipped. I observed via the aircraft situational display that the flight was proceeding down what appeared to be airway AR1. An ACARS message was sent to the flight informing them to reconfirm route of flight. The message was acknowledged. The captain called on the phone after arrival in mia and stated he did not go beyond 50 NM offshore. After the conversation, I reconfirmed the asd information with ZJX. The flight was cleared on AR1 by ZDC.
