Narrative:

While flying deer park two arrival we were cleared to cross madison VOR at 11000 ft. Passing 18000 ft I called for descent checklist the altimeter setting was 29.57. I accidentally put 30.57 on my altimeters. The first officer announced the checklist was complete. While showing 12000 ft on my altimeters, descending, ZBW was asking if we were leveling off at 11000 ft at which point I disconnected the autoplt and climbing back to 11000 ft with my altimeters being reset to 29.57, resulting in approximately 400 ft low altitude. Upon asking the first officer why he didn't mention the wrong altimeter setting, he stated that he only looked at .57 and didn't bother to check the first 2 digits.
