Narrative:
Lax tower gave us an altitude of 3000 ft. We overshot 3000 ft and when warning horn sounded, began a descent back to 3000 ft. Controller then asked our altitude and when we replied we were descending back to 3000 ft, he cleared us to 5000 ft.

Narrative: LAX TWR GAVE US AN ALT OF 3000 FT. WE OVERSHOT 3000 FT AND WHEN WARNING HORN SOUNDED, BEGAN A DSCNT BACK TO 3000 FT. CTLR THEN ASKED OUR ALT AND WHEN WE REPLIED WE WERE DSNDING BACK TO 3000 FT, HE CLRED US TO 5000 FT.
