Narrative:

Missed crossing restr on the arrival. After being cleared to an intermediate fix on the arrival, we were given a crossing restr of 12000 ft at 15 NM prior to fix. Both pilots restated the restr but, because of busy arrival, descent, congested approach frequency, and approach preparation, the autoplt descent rate was not set high enough to meet the restr. Perhaps, in addition to double-checking altitude changes, a top of descent or descent rate discussion/should be added to SOP's. I know that it will be a part of mine now.

Title: XING RESTR MISSED NEAR MACON, GA.

Narrative: MISSED XING RESTR ON THE ARR. AFTER BEING CLRED TO AN INTERMEDIATE FIX ON THE ARR, WE WERE GIVEN A XING RESTR OF 12000 FT AT 15 NM PRIOR TO FIX. BOTH PLTS RESTATED THE RESTR BUT, BECAUSE OF BUSY ARR, DSCNT, CONGESTED APCH FREQ, AND APCH PREPARATION, THE AUTOPLT DSCNT RATE WAS NOT SET HIGH ENOUGH TO MEET THE RESTR. PERHAPS, IN ADDITION TO DOUBLE-CHKING ALT CHANGES, A TOP OF DSCNT OR DSCNT RATE DISCUSSION/SHOULD BE ADDED TO SOP'S. I KNOW THAT IT WILL BE A PART OF MINE NOW.
