Narrative:
After an uneventful landing in denver. We exited the runway and contacted ground. After the first officer had received our taxi clearance we made our way toward the concourse. I taxied along the standard route that we normally take from that runway to the gate. As we entered the ramp area we switched from ground to ramp control. As the first officer realized where we had taxied he then said we were supposed to enter the ramp at the intersection just before the one we were at. After contacting the ramp control we proceeded to the arrival gate uneventfully. There was no conflicting traffic along our route from the runway to the gate. However we turned into the ramp from the wrong intersection. Once at the gate I contacted ground control on a land line. We discussed the situation, and he commented that everything went ok but in the future that the clearance we received would help traffic flow smoother.

Title: CAPT OF A DORNIER, DO328, PASSED UP THE DESIRED RAMP ENTRANCE DURING TAXI IN TO PARKING. THERE WAS NO CONFLICT, BUT WAS NOT USING THE DESIRED ROUTING FOR WHICH THEY HAD BEEN CLRED.
Narrative: AFTER AN UNEVENTFUL LNDG IN DENVER. WE EXITED THE RWY AND CONTACTED GND. AFTER THE FO HAD RECEIVED OUR TAXI CLRNC WE MADE OUR WAY TOWARD THE CONCOURSE. I TAXIED ALONG THE STANDARD RTE THAT WE NORMALLY TAKE FROM THAT RWY TO THE GATE. AS WE ENTERED THE RAMP AREA WE SWITCHED FROM GND TO RAMP CTL. AS THE FO REALIZED WHERE WE HAD TAXIED HE THEN SAID WE WERE SUPPOSED TO ENTER THE RAMP AT THE INTXN JUST BEFORE THE ONE WE WERE AT. AFTER CONTACTING THE RAMP CTL WE PROCEEDED TO THE ARR GATE UNEVENTFULLY. THERE WAS NO CONFLICTING TFC ALONG OUR RTE FROM THE RWY TO THE GATE. HOWEVER WE TURNED INTO THE RAMP FROM THE WRONG INTXN. ONCE AT THE GATE I CONTACTED GND CTL ON A LAND LINE. WE DISCUSSED THE SIT, AND HE COMMENTED THAT EVERYTHING WENT OK BUT IN THE FUTURE THAT THE CLRNC WE RECEIVED WOULD HELP TFC FLOW SMOOTHER.
