Narrative:
We took off from runway 8 at iah. Did not catch that the last 2000 ft of runway was closed. We used electronic ATIS. It was there and in NOTAMS but we missed it. Did not have approved takeoff data. Did not realize the last 2000 ft were closed until after takeoff. Takeoff was uneventful and cleared all equipment with no problem. Contributing factors: did not read NOTAMS well enough. Iah under a great deal of construction. There are many NOTAMS, pages of them, and they are always changing. Missed the one that applied to us. It would have helped us if ground control or tower would have mentioned the closure. There was no mention to any aircraft preceding us about the closure. Ground controller appeared to be in training, heard a second voice now and then. Will have to read all NOTAMS with more detail in the future.

Title: FLC OF A B737 FAILED TO NOTICE THAT 2000 FT OF THE RWY THEY USED FOR TKOF WAS NOTAM CLOSED. THEREFORE, THE ACFT PERFORMANCE DATA USED FOR COMPUTING RWY LENGTH, PWR SETTINGS, AND SPD WERE NOT CORRECT.
