Narrative:
After pushback in lga, we had a 30+ min delay sequence for taxi. 2 male coach passenger became annoyed with the delay and became loud and obnoxious. A male flight attendant tried to politely quiet them -- to no avail. One of the passenger ordered the flight attendant to go to the back of the aircraft, using profanity. The flight attendant informed me of situation and said that he believed the 2 passenger were intoxicated. I called for security to meet aircraft and returned to the gate. The passenger were removed and were in custody of the port police. I debriefed the police and local airline officials. One of the offenders yelled to the remaining passenger that the right engine was defective and the aircraft was unsafe to fly. We had the aircraft refueled and departed for fll, minus the 2 intoxicated passenger. Before we left, the police discovered the two had their own bottle of scotch. On initial boarding, I boarded aircraft right behind these 2 passenger and did not notice a problem. Supplemental information from acn 472554: other passenger came to the back because they were fearful of this person.
