Narrative:
Location: ord 020 degree radial, 20 DME. Climbing out of ord on vectors, cleared and read back 'turn to 060 degrees, climb to 15000 ft.' center asked what was assigned heading. Says 'no, 020 degrees assigned, now climb to 17000 ft.' I responded '060 degrees understood and read back.' no response. Turned to 020 degrees and climbed to new altitude 17000 ft. No TA or RA. No further mention made by ATC.
