Narrative:
Day VFR conditions at caracas. First officer flying. 750 ft to 290 degree heading. Tower issued instruction during takeoff roll that sounded like a heading. I said 'I'll check when airborne, time permitting.' the transmission was barely intelligible. Getting busy, I forgot to ask. We complied with the SID initiating a left turn. Continued climb to required 4000 ft. We saw another aircraft 12 O'clock and 8 mi at 6000 ft. Departure pointed out the aircraft and there was no conflict whatsoever. ATC asked if tower gave us a 360 heading after takeoff. I replied that we were unsure. ATC did not seem concerned. With tower issuing an instruction that we could not understand, and on the takeoff roll, it would have been advisable to abort the takeoff.

Narrative: DAY VFR CONDITIONS AT CARACAS. FO FLYING. 750 FT TO 290 DEG HDG. TWR ISSUED INSTRUCTION DURING TKOF ROLL THAT SOUNDED LIKE A HDG. I SAID 'I'LL CHK WHEN AIRBORNE, TIME PERMITTING.' THE XMISSION WAS BARELY INTELLIGIBLE. GETTING BUSY, I FORGOT TO ASK. WE COMPLIED WITH THE SID INITIATING A L TURN. CONTINUED CLB TO REQUIRED 4000 FT. WE SAW ANOTHER ACFT 12 O'CLOCK AND 8 MI AT 6000 FT. DEP POINTED OUT THE ACFT AND THERE WAS NO CONFLICT WHATSOEVER. ATC ASKED IF TWR GAVE US A 360 HDG AFTER TKOF. I REPLIED THAT WE WERE UNSURE. ATC DID NOT SEEM CONCERNED. WITH TWR ISSUING AN INSTRUCTION THAT WE COULD NOT UNDERSTAND, AND ON THE TKOF ROLL, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN ADVISABLE TO ABORT THE TKOF.
