Narrative:
In the last 30 days I have found 3 planes with the cable off the handle on the battery direct bus feed circuit breaker reset actuator. I started to check the cable on the handle after a captain told me that he finds one occasionally. He also told me that he asked maintenance why this is not checked more often. Maintenance response was that they do check it and for him to quit checking it himself that he was going to wear the handle out. Since then I have checked the cable on originating preflight and find one off the handle about once every 6 months to a yr. Now in the last 30 days I have found 3 planes with the cable off and one of the planes was 3 days out of an 'a' check. 1 of the 3 was aircraft xyz on may/tue/00, air carrier flight yy-XXX-mco. On some dark and stormy night when I'm down to nothing I don't want to reach down and grab the battery direct bus feed circuit breaker reset actuator and find that it is hooked up to air.
