Narrative:
On approach, with gear up, autoplt off, when flaps 23 degrees was selected the aircraft abruptly rolled to the right. Aileron and rudder were used to control the aircraft wile the flaps were returned to 15 degrees. The gear was lowered and the flaps were selected slowly to 23 degrees which resulted in an uncommanded roll to the left. The flaps were retracted to 15 degrees and a go around accomplished. Aircraft was flown to 8000 ft and a ctlability check was accomplished with the gear down and flaps 15 degrees. After consulting, we decided the best course was to fly a flaps 15 degree approach to runway 27L at mia. The landing was uneventful. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter thought the flaps had not gone down symmetrically, however, he did not recall the flap indication on the cockpit gauges.

Narrative: ON APCH, WITH GEAR UP, AUTOPLT OFF, WHEN FLAPS 23 DEGS WAS SELECTED THE ACFT ABRUPTLY ROLLED TO THE R. AILERON AND RUDDER WERE USED TO CTL THE ACFT WILE THE FLAPS WERE RETURNED TO 15 DEGS. THE GEAR WAS LOWERED AND THE FLAPS WERE SELECTED SLOWLY TO 23 DEGS WHICH RESULTED IN AN UNCOMMANDED ROLL TO THE L. THE FLAPS WERE RETRACTED TO 15 DEGS AND A GAR ACCOMPLISHED. ACFT WAS FLOWN TO 8000 FT AND A CTLABILITY CHK WAS ACCOMPLISHED WITH THE GEAR DOWN AND FLAPS 15 DEGS. AFTER CONSULTING, WE DECIDED THE BEST COURSE WAS TO FLY A FLAPS 15 DEG APCH TO RWY 27L AT MIA. THE LNDG WAS UNEVENTFUL. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR THOUGHT THE FLAPS HAD NOT GONE DOWN SYMMETRICALLY, HOWEVER, HE DID NOT RECALL THE FLAP INDICATION ON THE COCKPIT GAUGES.
