Narrative:
I was captain of air carrier X flight from mem to las. Filed route of flight was to pgs VOR and veeva(?) STAR into las. En route, ZLA amended our clearance to direct bummr(?) fix and the peach springs (pgs) STAR. I (and my first officer) did not have this STAR available. I informed ZLA that we didn't have the STAR. ZLA gave us alternate clearance to pgs VOR then fly the 282 degree radial to intercept the las runway 25L localizer. Also to cross 40 NM northwest of pgs at an altitude/speed restr. This was the bummr fix on the pgs STAR, with the same altitude/speed restr as on the STAR. In effect, center talked us through the STAR, and they were very cooperative in helping us. I was missing that page from my commercial charts. My first officer had the page, but was an old page that had been revised.
