Narrative:
ATIS indicated landing runways 14R, 14L, 22R at ord in VFR conditions. We advised approach on initial contact unable land and hold short. The controller told us to expect runway 22R with full length available, and that we should simply advise the tower regarding lahso. Subsequently we were given runway 14R for landing. Upon contact with tower we were told that we were cleared to land to hold short of runways 9R/27L. We advised unable and landed uneventfully. The beat goes on. I have become convinced that the only event that will fix this problem is when two aircraft actually meet at the 'an' intersection. I hope they are not our aircraft.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A B727 ON APCH REFUSES ANY LAHSO CLRNCS FOR RWY 22R AT ORD. RWY IS CHANGED TO RWY 14R AND THE TWR CTLR ISSUES A LAHSO CLRNC WHICH IS ALSO REFUSED. ARR TFC DIDN'T GET ADVANCE INFO REGARDING RWY AND INTXN USE FROM ATIS.
Narrative: ATIS INDICATED LNDG RWYS 14R, 14L, 22R AT ORD IN VFR CONDITIONS. WE ADVISED APCH ON INITIAL CONTACT UNABLE LAND AND HOLD SHORT. THE CTLR TOLD US TO EXPECT RWY 22R WITH FULL LENGTH AVAILABLE, AND THAT WE SHOULD SIMPLY ADVISE THE TWR REGARDING LAHSO. SUBSEQUENTLY WE WERE GIVEN RWY 14R FOR LNDG. UPON CONTACT WITH TWR WE WERE TOLD THAT WE WERE CLRED TO LAND TO HOLD SHORT OF RWYS 9R/27L. WE ADVISED UNABLE AND LANDED UNEVENTFULLY. THE BEAT GOES ON. I HAVE BECOME CONVINCED THAT THE ONLY EVENT THAT WILL FIX THIS PROB IS WHEN TWO ACFT ACTUALLY MEET AT THE 'AN' INTXN. I HOPE THEY ARE NOT OUR ACFT.
