Narrative:
Approaching orl class B airspace, I contacted center and obtained permission to enter their airspace. As I approached orl, the approach controller began providing vectors to orl. As I got closer to orl, the controller asked if I had the airport in sight. I saw mco and mistakenly thought it was orl. This is my first time in the orl airspace. I switched to tower and began an approach to (I thought) runway 7. In fact, I was looking at mco. Finally, the orl tower requested a heading change. I made the change but kept trying to turn back into the wrong airport. Finally, after receiving additional instructions from the tower, I realized my mistake and made the approach to the correct airport and runway. Better planning would have prevented this.

Title: APCH MADE TO THE INCORRECT ARPT IN THE ORL CLASS B AIRSPACE.
Narrative: APCHING ORL CLASS B AIRSPACE, I CONTACTED CTR AND OBTAINED PERMISSION TO ENTER THEIR AIRSPACE. AS I APCHED ORL, THE APCH CTLR BEGAN PROVIDING VECTORS TO ORL. AS I GOT CLOSER TO ORL, THE CTLR ASKED IF I HAD THE ARPT IN SIGHT. I SAW MCO AND MISTAKENLY THOUGHT IT WAS ORL. THIS IS MY FIRST TIME IN THE ORL AIRSPACE. I SWITCHED TO TWR AND BEGAN AN APCH TO (I THOUGHT) RWY 7. IN FACT, I WAS LOOKING AT MCO. FINALLY, THE ORL TWR REQUESTED A HDG CHANGE. I MADE THE CHANGE BUT KEPT TRYING TO TURN BACK INTO THE WRONG ARPT. FINALLY, AFTER RECEIVING ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE TWR, I REALIZED MY MISTAKE AND MADE THE APCH TO THE CORRECT ARPT AND RWY. BETTER PLANNING WOULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS.
