Narrative:
Our flight originated from buf to bwi. Our route took us over har then direct bwi. As we got past har we noticed on radar isolated thunderstorm cells. When we were on frequency 125.52 we asked for deviations and were met by opposition from the controller, and even a threat to terminate radar on us. When we asked to deviate he told us we would be entering phl airspace and he could not approve it. I told him he would either have to coordinate it or give us a 180 degree turn back in the opposite direction. This controller was difficult and dangerous. He needs to realize that we're not here to serve him, but vice versa. We are not up in the air to make his life easier and all he had to do is either coordinate a handoff or turn us around. We also told him we could go around the cell in the opposite direction.

Title: A DCH8 FLC IS, AT FIRST, DENIED ANY DEV AROUND TSTM ACTIVITY BECAUSE OF THEIR PROX TO PHL AIRSPACE NEAR HAR, PA.
Narrative: OUR FLT ORIGINATED FROM BUF TO BWI. OUR RTE TOOK US OVER HAR THEN DIRECT BWI. AS WE GOT PAST HAR WE NOTICED ON RADAR ISOLATED TSTM CELLS. WHEN WE WERE ON FREQ 125.52 WE ASKED FOR DEVS AND WERE MET BY OPPOSITION FROM THE CTLR, AND EVEN A THREAT TO TERMINATE RADAR ON US. WHEN WE ASKED TO DEVIATE HE TOLD US WE WOULD BE ENTERING PHL AIRSPACE AND HE COULD NOT APPROVE IT. I TOLD HIM HE WOULD EITHER HAVE TO COORDINATE IT OR GIVE US A 180 DEG TURN BACK IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. THIS CTLR WAS DIFFICULT AND DANGEROUS. HE NEEDS TO REALIZE THAT WE'RE NOT HERE TO SERVE HIM, BUT VICE VERSA. WE ARE NOT UP IN THE AIR TO MAKE HIS LIFE EASIER AND ALL HE HAD TO DO IS EITHER COORDINATE A HDOF OR TURN US AROUND. WE ALSO TOLD HIM WE COULD GAR THE CELL IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION.
