Narrative:

Normal ferry flight hawthorne, ca, to long beach. Los angeles FSDO maintains not airworthy because maintenance entry not in log for 2 seatbelts installed with tags. Belts replaced were excellent condition except maintenance tags missing. Problem: los angeles FSDO found 2 seatbelts without tags. 2 belts replaced with tags. Los angeles FSDO contends maintenance entry not made before aircraft ferried back to home base. FSDO trying to file violation on mechanic who changed 2 belts. 2 belts were not immediately available. In lieu of a maintenance entry was written on a sticker to be placed in records. Upon returning to long beach before records could be entered, lgb FSDO inspectors demanded and copies maintenance records. Afterwards, entry was made before further flts. I feel there was no compromise as far as safety was concerned in any way.
