Narrative:
After the preflight, the flight engineer notified the mechanic that one of the navigation lights was burnt out. The mechanic came up to the cockpit and informed the captain that it was complicated and we might be delayed. The captain asked how many lights we had out there. The mechanic said 2. We have some planes in the fleet with 2 bulbs on both sides and the captain thought we had one of those planes on this flight. We took off without the mechanic fixing the navigation light. When we got to our destination, the mechanic came into the cockpit as the door opened and informed us that we had no navigation light on one side. It took the mechanic about 10 mins to fix it and we continued with the next flight.
