Narrative:

We were taxiing in to gate X at ZZZ at night with the #1 engine operating. We had wing walkers on both wings and a lead-in marshaller. The gate area looked clear and we had a thumbs up from both wing walkers and the marshaller all the way in to the gate. As the aircraft approached the stopping point, I added a little power, approximately 30% N1. As we stopped the aircraft, we heard a noise and felt an aircraft vibration from the left side of the aircraft. I called for the shutdown of the #1 engine. The copilot shut down the engine and the engine bleed. The #1 engine had ingested the external air conditioning hose.
