Narrative:
Aircraft (an a300b4) had been in storage in ZZZ for 1 yr and was to be flown to XXX on a maintenance ferry permit. I was called in to do an engine run-up, and a high speed taxi to cycle the thrust reversers. After doing 2 high speed taxies down runway 21 and never touching the brakes, since we were on a 13000 ft runway, the runup was complete and we taxied back to the ramp when the ground controller advised me a mechanic had called him on the phone and reported seeing smoke. As we shut down engines, the mechanic was yelling the wheel was on fire. The mechanic -- the one who also took the action of calling the fire department since myself and the 2 mechanic had no indication of any sort of fire on board the aircraft. We exited the aircraft and the fire department secured the brake fire on the left main wheel. After the mechanic looked at the wheel it was then they realized that the #5 brake had locked up. There was no further damage to the aircraft except the tire and brake, and no injury to myself the pilot, and 2 mechanics.
