Narrative:
We were on a vector to intercept an airway leading to klamath falls when we were given a direct to klamath falls (lmt). Incorrectly punched lakeview (lkv) into the FMS instead of lmt. The center controller questioned my flight path and I recognized the mistake. I requested direct lakeview (lmt) and was given direct lmt. There were no conflicts with other aircraft. I should have done a better job discerning between lkv and lmt. It might be a little easier if 2 nearby stations didn't have identify letters both starting with 'left.'
