Narrative:
I was flight attendant #5 and preparing the beverage cart for the first service at G3 galley, mid cabin. A passenger came out of the mid lavatory and I immediately smelled smoke from the lavatory. I asked her if she had been smoking in the lavatory and she said yes. I told her, did she realize she could be arrested and it was strictly prohibited on the airplane. She said she didn't know that, and claimed to not have heard the no-smoking PA's, and didn't see the sign posted on the lavatory. I then went and told the flight attendant #1 and she handled it from there. I signed the report. Passenger kept apologizing the entire flight.
