Narrative:
Departure, atlanta. After flaps up and doing after takeoff checklist, master caution trailing edge flap disagree light came on. Asked departure control for delay vectors to handle abnormal situation. Then declared emergency and went through the abnormal trailing edge flap disagree procedure. Then briefed passenger, flight attendant, company and requested runway 27R because this was atlanta's longest runway. Made a flap 20 degrees vref 20 landing as the procedures called for. One thing that was annoying and distracting during the high workload period of running abnormal checklist, descent and approach checklist and pre-landing, briefing passenger, flight attendant and company, was ATC request for passenger number, time remaining, fuel onboard, then the number of babies aboard. We had no clue how many passenger were babies.

Title: EMER TFC B757-200 PIC IS BOTHERED BY APCH CTLR'S QUESTIONS AS TO FUEL ONBOARD, ETC, WHEN RETURNING TO LAND WITH A TRAILING EDGE FLAP DISAGREE LIGHT ON W OF ATL, GA.
Narrative: DEP, ATLANTA. AFTER FLAPS UP AND DOING AFTER TKOF CHKLIST, MASTER CAUTION TRAILING EDGE FLAP DISAGREE LIGHT CAME ON. ASKED DEP CTL FOR DELAY VECTORS TO HANDLE ABNORMAL SIT. THEN DECLARED EMER AND WENT THROUGH THE ABNORMAL TRAILING EDGE FLAP DISAGREE PROC. THEN BRIEFED PAX, FLT ATTENDANT, COMPANY AND REQUESTED RWY 27R BECAUSE THIS WAS ATLANTA'S LONGEST RWY. MADE A FLAP 20 DEGS VREF 20 LNDG AS THE PROCS CALLED FOR. ONE THING THAT WAS ANNOYING AND DISTRACTING DURING THE HIGH WORKLOAD PERIOD OF RUNNING ABNORMAL CHKLIST, DSCNT AND APCH CHKLIST AND PRE-LNDG, BRIEFING PAX, FLT ATTENDANT AND COMPANY, WAS ATC REQUEST FOR PAX NUMBER, TIME REMAINING, FUEL ONBOARD, THEN THE NUMBER OF BABIES ABOARD.
