We flew ord-ewr with a minor open item in the MEL log. A reading light in first class had been written up by the previous crew. I saw it and forgot it, then found it in ewr. Got busy and filed it away.

Narrative: WE FLEW ORD-EWR WITH A MINOR OPEN ITEM IN THE MEL LOG. A READING LIGHT IN FIRST CLASS HAD BEEN WRITTEN UP BY THE PREVIOUS CREW. I SAW IT AND FORGOT IT, THEN FOUND IT IN EWR. GOT BUSY AND FILED IT AWAY.
