Narrative:
Approximately 10 NM south of lga, descending out of 6000 ft for 5000 ft. Approaching 5000 ft lga approach cleared us to 3000 ft with a good rate to 3000 ft. Meanwhile our TCASII indicated a TA below and to our left rear, so we slowed our rate of descent. At this time the air carrier told ATC they have us at their 12 O'clock position and getting close. We slowed our rate of descent more even though ATC said, 'I need a good rate to 3000 ft.' appeared ATC was going to descend us into the air carrier. The air carrier reported responding to RA and at the same time we responded to a climb RA. We received 'clear of conflict' and leveled off at 6000 ft MSL.

Title: B737 CREW HAD TCASII RA IN N-90 CLASS B.
Narrative: APPROX 10 NM S OF LGA, DSNDING OUT OF 6000 FT FOR 5000 FT. APCHING 5000 FT LGA APCH CLRED US TO 3000 FT WITH A GOOD RATE TO 3000 FT. MEANWHILE OUR TCASII INDICATED A TA BELOW AND TO OUR L REAR, SO WE SLOWED OUR RATE OF DSCNT. AT THIS TIME THE ACR TOLD ATC THEY HAVE US AT THEIR 12 O'CLOCK POS AND GETTING CLOSE. WE SLOWED OUR RATE OF DSCNT MORE EVEN THOUGH ATC SAID, 'I NEED A GOOD RATE TO 3000 FT.' APPEARED ATC WAS GOING TO DSND US INTO THE ACR. THE ACR RPTED RESPONDING TO RA AND AT THE SAME TIME WE RESPONDED TO A CLB RA. WE RECEIVED 'CLR OF CONFLICT' AND LEVELED OFF AT 6000 FT MSL.
