Narrative:
Flight xyz sea-iah, B737-700, was dispatched with penalties applied for cdl 52-40-05, high pressure connection door latch inoperative (door was removed). Upon working the flight up (XA00 on sep/xa/00), I researched the cdl to find no distinction between fleet types. However, the penalty code cold not be entered into the computer. Engineering was called (at home), and the code was adjusted for this flight. Subsequently, 24 hours later, it was brought to my attention that according to the cdl appendix in the FAA approved flight manual, this door is not allowed to be missing on the -700/-800. Consequently, engineering will make a notation on our current cdl manual indicating the penalty is for the -300/-500 only, our weight and balance adjustment code screen will be modified and boeing has been contacted regarding a revision of the cdl.
