Narrative:

Mxf tower was coordinating for release of a VFR aircraft off runway 33 at maxwell AFB with the operational supervisor. I was working the radar position. Military, a T38, called off runway 33 at mxf climbing. This was an IFR departure. Somehow, someone confused the VFR with the IFR and military was released climbing to 5500 ft. Separation was not lost.

Narrative: MXF TWR WAS COORDINATING FOR RELEASE OF A VFR ACFT OFF RWY 33 AT MAXWELL AFB WITH THE OPERATIONAL SUPVR. I WAS WORKING THE RADAR POS. MIL, A T38, CALLED OFF RWY 33 AT MXF CLBING.
