Narrative:
Captain was flying the aircraft on the autoplt and descending from 9000 ft MSL to cleared altitude of 7000 ft MSL. I (F0) was setting up the navigation radios for ILS runway 4 at lga when I saw the altitude descending through 6500 ft. The captain then made an immediate correction back up to 7000 ft. We did not see any other aircraft around and no TCASII or remarks from ATC. The crew had been on duty since XA30, and I think a long day in IMC WX slowed down our response time. Supplemental information from acn 486804: I heard the first officer say 'level off' twice and looked forward to see the aircraft descending through approximately 6700 ft with the altitude alerter set at 7000 ft. Minimum altitude was approximately 6450 ft.
