Narrative:
During a regular pleasure flight, I landed at 39N. I approached from the north and announced my position, crosswind, downwind, base and final. An aircraft behind me also announced position and we had visual contact with each other. On very short final (over the numbers) I saw for the first time a rotary wing (robinson?) hovering above the runway at my altitude directly in front of me. Another fixed wing aircraft was holding on the taxiway, I thought awaiting my landing. I continued my landing south I felt I would not be able to avoid the rotary wing craft if I attempted a go around. I safely landed my airplane under the rotary wing with a clearance, I would guess, of less than 150 ft. The rotary wing pilot asked if I knew that I landed under him. I acknowledged that I did, as I did not see him until I had no choice. Once I returned home, I called and advised the owner of the airport what happened. He said he would advise the rotary wing flight school to practice hovering parallel to (not above) the runway.

Title: PLT OF AN SMA SEL LANDED UNDER A ROBINSON HELI HOVERING OVER THE APCH END OF THE ACTIVE RWY.
Narrative: DURING A REGULAR PLEASURE FLT, I LANDED AT 39N. I APCHED FROM THE N AND ANNOUNCED MY POS, XWIND, DOWNWIND, BASE AND FINAL. AN ACFT BEHIND ME ALSO ANNOUNCED POS AND WE HAD VISUAL CONTACT WITH EACH OTHER. ON VERY SHORT FINAL (OVER THE NUMBERS) I SAW FOR THE FIRST TIME A ROTARY WING (ROBINSON?) HOVERING ABOVE THE RWY AT MY ALT DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME. ANOTHER FIXED WING ACFT WAS HOLDING ON THE TXWY, I THOUGHT AWAITING MY LNDG. I CONTINUED MY LNDG S I FELT I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO AVOID THE ROTARY WING CRAFT IF I ATTEMPTED A GAR. I SAFELY LANDED MY AIRPLANE UNDER THE ROTARY WING WITH A CLRNC, I WOULD GUESS, OF LESS THAN 150 FT. THE ROTARY WING PLT ASKED IF I KNEW THAT I LANDED UNDER HIM. I ACKNOWLEDGED THAT I DID, AS I DID NOT SEE HIM UNTIL I HAD NO CHOICE. ONCE I RETURNED HOME, I CALLED AND ADVISED THE OWNER OF THE ARPT WHAT HAPPENED. HE SAID HE WOULD ADVISE THE ROTARY WING FLT SCHOOL TO PRACTICE HOVERING PARALLEL TO (NOT ABOVE) THE RWY.
