Narrative:

Clearance deviation. Pre departure clearance had mia 4 departure hedly transition. Takeoff east with left turns to 280 degrees, then clearance to join winco transition. Busy working around thunderstorms and did not catch the change from hedly to winco. Controller stated that we were joining wrong transition, then stated the new transition was for thunderstorm deviations. Vectored to the winco transition. Had the controller originally stated that there was a clearance change due to thunderstorms, there would not have been confusion. No known traffic separation problems occurred.
